Retired seven-times Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher has escaped unhurt from a motorcycle crash in Spain.
Schumacher, 40, was testing his Honda 1000 CBR-Fireblade German superbike at the Cartagena circuit, where he has been since Monday.
"Today I had an accident at the biking tests in Cartagena, and to be safe I went to a hospital," Schumacher said on his official website.
"The checks showed nothing and I just wanted to say that I am fine."
Sabine Kehm, spokeswoman for the racer, said: "It is only a slight concussion. Michael will fly home immediately (following his release)."
Schumacher also complained of pain in his right wrist, although no bones were broken.
His team boss Jens Holzhauer told Cologne's Express newspaper: "This was not as bad as it sounds. It was a harmless slip and a quite normal training fall. He will still fly home this evening."
The German won five of his titles with Ferrari and retired in 2006 after winning a record 91 grands prix.

The schumy fan boys will be hold a candle light vigil if he even so much as sneezes.
The most boring world champion ever. Reuters reported that the extra ballast in his huge chin sent him over the bars head first, something about forward weight distribution.
hamilton not fit to wipe his arse
SO WHAT ???
Who cares?
Der Teufel looks after his own all right!! Clearly, he still pines after being feted by the world, Fi has moved on Michael my boy, so should you!!

Sorry Eurosport, but does no one else think the headline here doesn't quite tally with the actual situation?
I was hoping he`d broken his neck.
Mr "trouble"
It doesn't hurt to be an idiot? Too bad.
Best wishes Michael,

Strange, everytime there was an attempt on the life of Adolph Hitler, for some reason he luckily escaped.
Best wishes Michael, good to hear you are ok.
he has a death wish perhaps?
I agree with you Adam L. The headline was misrepresenting the article. I thought schumi must be seriously injured.
What, four wheels too many for him these days?
Which proves that John Surtees, the only world champion on both motorcyles and F1 cars was, and is, the greatest of all time. Shoe Maker, you missed your profession, hmm, shoe maker. Surtees was the greatest ever, he won world champs in the top class in both sports. You are second best
They do like to scare us with their melodramatic headlines. What would be wrong with, "Schumacher Fine After Crash"?
Hey Schumi! Good to hear you're OK. Solid as a rock, as usual! Great man, great champ!
