Ski-jumping world record falls

Austria's Gregor Schlierenzauer and new ski-flying world record holder Johan Remen Evensen of Norway shared victory at the FIS ski jumping World Cup.

Schlierenzauer recorded jumps of 243.5m and 232.5m, while Evensen reached 240m and 234.5m with his two efforts in Vikersund, Norway as they claimed 489.6 points each in the ski flying competition.

Ski-flying world champion Simon Ammann of Switzerland was third on 452 points.

After 22 of 26 events, Thomas Morgenstern maintains his clear lead in the overall World Cup standings. The Austrian has 1,551 points, ahead of Ammann on 1,159 and Andreas Kofler of Austria on 1,016.
