Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has claimed to have lost all respect for Liverpool's Luis Suarez.
Ferdinand refused to shake Suarez's hand prior to United's 2-1 Premier League win at Old Trafford. He took the decision as a direct consequence of Suarez opting not to shake Patrice Evra's hand as the players conducted their traditional pre-match greeting.
"I thought it was bad decision-making from their guy," Ferdinand told MUTV. "After seeing what I saw I decided not to shake his hand. I lost all respect for the guy after that."
It was Suarez's first start since serving an eight-match ban for racially abusing Evra at Anfield in October.
The incident came a fortnight after the Football Association scrapped the handshake prior to Chelsea's FA Cup fourth round tie at QPR and an equally tricky reunion between Rio's brother, Anton Ferdinand, and John Terry, who has been accused of racially abusing the defender, also in October.
Ferdinand added: "It's a touchy subject at the minute and things could have been put to bed a little bit easier if the handshake had been done.
"He's not got the respect that he needs to have in these situations and acknowledge he's made a mistake and say sorry and move on from that."
Sir Alex Ferguson has branded Suarez "a disgrace" and called for Liverpool to sack the South American. However, that is not going to happen and Ferdinand accepts when the two clubs meet next season, there will be even more scrutiny on them.
"It could have been resolved, maybe, between the two people who are involved," he said. "After this, it's not great. It's disappointing. I expected more from the other guy but it wasn't to be."
Meanwhile, thousands of copies of independent United fanzine Red Issue were seized by police outside the ground after they were found to contain a "racially offensive image". The fanzine included a spoof poster of a Ku Klux Klan hood along with the words "LFC" and "Suarez is Innocent".

Rio Ferdinand is a snivelling little creep who's always trying to position himself to appear like the football diplomat but unfortunely doesn't have the intelligence to carry it off and I'm not entirely sure that he did see Suarez refuse to shake Evra's hand. I've got a feeling that might have been his own decision. Personally I like the way Dalglish sticks with his own players no matter what. This is almost becoming a troll campaign against Suarez now. I wouldn't have shaked the lieing little toads hand either. It would have come across as an admission of guilt. Let's not forget Evra's history.

Evra should outlive his inferiority complex. You can't expect Suarez to shake your hand after what you accused him of and was punished for it. If Evra was in Suarez shoe will he have done anything different? We can still remember the world cup how he led other players to go against his coach. Evra is no good too. Rio should shut up and concentrate on his career.
Evra (known to lie about accusing people of racism) , Rudolph (well what more can be said about him that hasn't been said already) and Fairydinand (known drug cheater) were all playing to the cameras yesterday, and anyone who cant see that, then they are no better than the scum press that we are unfortunately lumbered with in this country. I've never seen Rudolph with as big a grin on his face that I saw yesterday, he loved the fact that this had happened, and what or who has given him the right to criticise any other team's players, the frase "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" comes to mind. Suarez had his hand out when he walked past Evra, Evra made no attempt to shake it, evidence is there in plain sight to see.

Evra deliberately had his hand at an angle of 37.5° below horizontal.
That is the Uruguayan 'Angle Of Maximum Insult'. Evra is an intelligent man, who speaks 4 languages fluently. He would have known this.
It's the South American equivalent of the 'Vulcan Death Grip'. Suarez might easily have lost a couple of fingers if he'd shaken Evras' hand.
I don't think Suarez will give a toss what Rio thinks!!!!.........................I don't think Suarez went cheating with 10 women behind his wife's back either!!!!

Regardless of your team loyalties. Regardless of your opinions or your belief of the "facts" in this incident. And try to be honest for once PLEASE....
If you were accused of something you honestly belived in your heart you didn't do. Saw no video evidence or heard no audio evidence to proove otherwise yet in 1 week you are suspended by a corrupt FA organisation for 8 games and branded a racist. Given the fact you were accused by a person who has in the past tried the same accusations twice before and the added well known fact that the accuser is not exactly Bobby Charlton honest and is a bit of a unfavorable chap anyway (can't deny Evra is that).
I ask you this...Honestly....Why would you shake his hand if you thought the accuser lied and slandered your name and reputation? Why would you allow the con to continue by pretending al is ok?! I would not have shaken his hand either.

At every oppertunity the utd players were digging at him, trying to make him react, he didn't. His goal proved it, shame he didn't get to score 2 more, that would've been a proper 2 fingered salute to utd!
