Jewell ready for Blues backlash

Wed 12 Mar, 03:45 PM

Derby manager Paul Jewell is ready for the threat of Chelsea when they travel to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Wednesday night. The Blues were surprisingly knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship side Barnsley and the Rams boss is expecting a backlash.

Jewell told the club's official website: "When you go to Stamford Bridge it is always going to be tough as they have a very good home record.

"It is difficult to go to these teams and play good open football - as they are better at it than you - so first of all you have to stop them playing, then be as positive as we can when we have got the ball.

"They will be smarting after getting knocked out of the FA Cup. They will want to go out and prove something and finish strongly in the league, so it's not going to be easy for us, that's for sure."
