Bury manager Alan Knill was delighted to beat his former club as a brace from Andy Bishop guided the Shakers to a 3-0 home win over Rotherham. The former York forward scored the opening goal in the 16th minute after a defensive mix-up between Ian Sharps and Millers skipper Graham Coughlan and added his second in the 62nd minute - his sixth goal in the last three games.
And victory in Tuesday night's League Two clash at Gigg Lane was secured just four minutes later when midfielder Nicky Adams beat former Bury goalkeeper Andy Warrington with a left-footed strike to leave Knill purring.
He said: "Bish (Bishop) will take the headlines, but it was a really good team performance.
"I'd be lying if I said it didn't mean a lot to me to beat Rotherham. I follow their progress, particularly their young players, but I'm delighted we've won. It's a fantastic feeling to beat them.
"It was no secret I wasn't too happy when I left them, so it was important we won here. It's three wins on the run - and three really good performances."
