Leeds manager Gary McAllister suffered "a night of frustration" as lowly Cheltenham dealt his side's promotion hopes a blow at Elland Road.McAllister had expected another three points after successive wins, but his side lacked a cutting edge and goals from Dave Bird and Alex Russell ensured Cheltenham won 2-0 to complete an unlikely double over Leeds.
McAllister said: "We lacked touch and guile in the final third of the pitch. That was our downfall.
"We had lots of possession, but Cheltenham got men behind the ball and we found it hard to break them down.
"I felt the only way they were likely to score was from a mistake and that's what happened, though their second was a wonder strike.
"It's important that we stick together because there are a lot of points left to play for, but this was a night of frustration for us."
