Oldham manager John Sheridan believes his side have put themselves firmly in the play-off picture following the 2-0 victory over Bournemouth. The Latics inched closer to the promotion pack thanks to two penalties from skipper Neal Eardley.
Sheridan said: "With a little bit of luck things might happen for us.
"We have certainly given ourselves hope. We knew what we had to do and went about it in the right way.
"Now we have to keep winning and see where it takes us. There is a lot to play for.
"That was our 14th clean sheet of the season and our defending has been the sort of form that brings automatic promotion."
