Swansea defender Alan Tate insists the leaders' fate is "still in their own hands" despite dropping more points in their draw with Tranmere.After being 11 points clear at the top of the table, the Swans' lead has now been almost halved after two poor performances at the Liberty Stadium.

Defeat to Millwall was followed up by a 1-1 draw with Rovers on Tuesday night. Tate gave the home side the lead in the 43rd minute but in injury time, Rovers substitute Chris Greenacre slotted in from an acute angle to haul the sides level.

"It was my first goal in a year but it doesn't make up for the fact that we've now dropped five points in our last two home matches," said Tate.

"But there is no use in us looking at the league table as we know exactly where we are and everything is still in our own hands.

"Our next game at Northampton is now a very big one but we haven't lost away from home since September so we will be looking for a victory."
