Werder Bremen have played down a post-match argument between two of their star players following the UEFA Cup last 16 first leg defeat to Rangers.
Reports claimed that striker Aaron Hunt and midfielder Diego had a heated row afterward, having had an on-pitch confrontation in the 2-0 loss at Ibrox - reports that Hunt confirmed.
"It is true," Hunt told Sportbild. "We'd already had an argument during the game."
Bremen sports director Klaus Allofs claimed that the incident was not serious, however.
"I do not know of a player who never had an argument with his team-mates," Allofs declared.
Diego is currently serving a three-match domestic ban for an incident during a Bundesliga loss to Eintracht Frankfurt while Hunt is no stranger to controversy, having been accused and eventually cleared of racially abusing England players during an Under-21 match in November 2006.
