Newcastle and Chelsea target Lubos Kalouda has clinched a £3.8 million move from FC Brno to CSKA Moscow on transfer deadline day in Russia.
"We are signing the contract. Lubos is moving under very good conditions," FC Brno majority shareholder Roman Pros said.
Newcastle, Chelsea and Juventus were reported to be interested in signing the 20-year-old midfielder in January, but none of the clubs managed to meet the requirements of his Czech club.
Newcastle came closest to sealing a deal, but ran out of time and were unable to beat the transfer deadline.
Pros had hoped the two clubs would resume talks in the summer when the transfer window re-opens, but Kalouda has opted to join Valery Gazzaev's CSKA side.
A Chelsea representative was in Brno to see their 2-1 win over Slavia Prague at the end of February.
Kalouda was a starring member of the Czech Republic Under-20 team that won a silver medal at the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Canada.
