Matty Blinkhorn scored as Morecambe dented Chesterfield's League Two play-off hopes in a 1-1 draw at Christie Park on Saturday.Blinkhorn was the Shrimps' goal hero with a neatly-taken strike 17 minutes from time but it was goalkeeper Scott Davies who was the star for Sammy McIlroy's side after pulling off a string of fine saves.

Chesterfield dominated the game in the first half and led through Steve Fletcher's superb 35th-minute strike.

The visitors had a number of chances to extend their lead with striker Jamie Ward denied on two occasions by superb saves by Davies.

Morecambe were much better value in the second half with Damien Allen wasting a glorious chance and Wayne Curtis hitting the post with a neat strike.
