Darren Ambrose admits he and his Charlton team-mates seriously underachieved this season and has promised a vast improvement next time out.The Addicks were among the favourites for promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt, but ended up not even reaching the play-offs following an inconsistent campaign.
"It was a frustrating season and we weren't expecting to finish where we did," said Ambrose.
"At the start of the season we were going for automatic promotion but as the campaign went on we lost games we should have won against sides around at the bottom of the table.
"We're a massive club, we've got a lot of good players and we should have finished higher than we did. But we all know that, we'll learn from it and we'll start again next season and be a lot stronger."
