Tranmere striker Chris Greenacre insists his side can look ahead to next season with optimism despite their failure to reach the play-offs.Rovers won just one of their last five games to blow their promotion hopes and finish a disappointing 11th in League One.
However, Greenacre is confident they can bounce back and sustain a stronger challenge in the 2008/09 campaign.
Greenacre said: "In the end we weren't quite good enough to get in the play-offs but there were loads of positives from the season.
"It was another year of a settled team playing together, and the longer you've got that the better it is.
"We recruited two or three good players and hopefully that's the base of good things to come next season."
