Reported Portsmouth target, Benfica defender Luisao, has declared he will quit the Lisbon club this summer if the right offer comes along. The Brazil international, who has a contract with Benfica until 2011, has recently been linked with a move to Pompey.
But while the 27-year-old, who is rated at £12million, admits that he would be prepared to leave, he denied knowledge of any interest from Harry Redknapp's side.
"Is there interest from other clubs, like Portsmouth? All I know is what comes out in the papers," he told Portuguese newspaper Record on Monday.
"If an offer comes in that's good for me and the club, then we'll see, but the most likely thing is that I'll stay.
"Throughout this campaign some things have happened that have hurt me slightly. If I stay I'll be happy, If I go I'll follow my own path."
Benfica's season ended this weekend with a 3-0 win over Vitoria Setubal in the Portuguese SuperLiga.
However, despite the good result the club only managed to finish fourth in the league, missing out on Champions League football.
And Luisao admitted his disappointment at how the campaign had gone.
"This certainly wasn't the send-off we hoped for," he said. "The party was great, but the results haven't been what we wanted."
