Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell has said that Lee Hendrie still has a future at the club.

Midfielder Hendrie, 30, has been openly critical of his time with the Blades, and has made it known that he wants to stay at Leicester City, where he has been on loan since February.

But Blackwell insists that the former Aston Villa player is still under contract at United and will be expected to report for pre-season training.

Blackwell said: "He comes back as a Sheffield United player. Maybe he'll flourish under a team that's doing well.

"I'm aware of his comments that he didn't like it at Sheffield.

"But he's contracted at Sheffield United and he will do everything that's required of Sheffield United unless he moves on."
