Crystal Palace will be without James Scowcroft when they head to Ashton Gate for their play-off semi-final second leg against Bristol City.

Scowcroft came off the bench during Saturday's 2-1 first-leg defeat following a month out with a hamstring injury, but lasted just six minutes before pulling up with a recurrence of the problem and had to be stretchered off.

Defender Matt Lawrence could return to the starting line-up having come through a substitute appearance on Saturday just a fortnight after undergoing hernia surgery.

Paul Ifill and Sean Scannell are also pushing for starts should boss Neil Warnock make changes following the bruising encounter at Selhurst Park, but fellow midfielder Neil Danns is still out with a groin injury.

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has no fresh injury worries.

His son Lee Johnson could force his way back into the side after coming on towards the end of City's 2-1 first-leg victory.

And the Robins boss confirmed the midfielder would be able to manage 90 minutes if selected following his recent return from an ankle injury, but Nick Carle is expected to retain his starting berth with Johnson starting on the bench.

Steve Brooker (hamstring) remains a doubt so Lee Trundle and Dele Adebola are set to continue up front.

Johnson said: "Everybody is fit and it's great that the ones who weren't fit are getting fitter. Brooker and Lee are just getting their fitness, they've had a couple of cameo roles if you like.

"All a manager wants is all his staff available for selection because it gives him greater options."
