World Junior and Youth champion Harry Aikines Aryeetey easily claimed a personal best to win the 100m at the Pavia meet in Italy.

The 19-year-old Briton, competing in his first 100m race since 2006, ran inside the Olympic A qualifying time with a new career best of 10.18 seconds in the heats.

He then went on to easily win the final from European Junior Champion Leon Baptiste (10.31) and James Dasaolu (10.38) in a time of 10.20.

Aikines Aryeetey's previous personal best was 10.35, which he ran in 2005 when he claimed the World Youth title, but during the indoor season he produced a 60m personal best of 6.59.

In the women's competition 17-year-old Stoke native Ashlee Nelson won the 100m final with a time of 11.37 seconds, inside the Olympic B qualifying standard.
