Brown happy to take pressure

Tue 12 May, 02:39 PM

Hull boss Phil Brown insists he will not buckle under the pressure of trying to keep City in the Premier League.

The Tigers dropped into the bottom three for the first time this season following Newcastle's 3-1 win over Middlesbrough on Monday.

Hull have lost their last five games but Brown now knows they must take something from games against Bolton and Manchester United to have any hope of avoiding an immediate return to the Championship.

He told the Hull Daily Mail: "Do I beat myself up about it? There seems to be enough people out there ready to do that for me. It affects you but that's part and parcel of being a football manager.

"At times you want it all to go away but this is the Premier League, you will always be under scrutiny. There's nowhere else I want to be, I certainly wouldn't want the quiet life in the Championship.

"I still have confidence in my team and I'm very confident we'll still be in the Premier League next season."
