Duffen: Time for Tigers to deliver

Tue 12 May, 02:43 PM

Hull chairman Paul Duffen claims the Tigers must beat Bolton on Saturday after falling into the bottom three of the Barclays Premier League.

Duffen saw his club make a superb start to the season but their form has faded and Newcastle's victory over Middlesbrough saw the East Yorkshire side slip into the relegation zone.

"Certainly a win on Saturday is imperative," Duffen told Sky Sports News.

"Bolton have proved they're a really robust side this season.

"If we (beat Bolton) then of course we'll have an eye on results elsewhere.

"There are clubs that may not yet be in the mix who could come into the mix over these last two games."

  1. Still can't believe the criticism aimed at your owner or Phil Brown. Without both, you'd be where you've always been. Outside the top division. They took you away from what you've been, always a mediocre team / club. Have a little realism!!!

  2. Mr Duffen when you leave city ground today will you please take Mr Brown and ask him not to return to our club as he has lost the respect of his players and fans he has no idea how to work the transfer market to buy decent players with your help he buys injury prone playeres and second rate players who cant even get a game in the first Div so can we have a new manager for next season in place as soon as possable someone like Steve Copple or Gus Poyet managers our players and fans will respect or Mr Duffen if ou dont like what the fans are saying go with MR Brown lets have a complete turn around

  3. ...and some Bolton fans want Sunbed to replace GM. Thanks but no thanks! Ginger Mourinho is re-building and should be given the chance to do so. 3 Points on Saturday for the Wanderers would do nicely and enable us to end on a high.....

Sad that Hull's only season in the top flight will end in relegation, but clubs found you out early and Phil Brown's ego, which is the size of the Reebok, got the better of him. Shame, as I have fond memories of battles at Boothferry Park. Who can forget that gloriously sunny night in April 1993?

  4. to late mr Duffen youshould have done something better with the 5mill you wasted in january moved the manager after he lost the support of the dressing when he made fools of them sitting them on the pitch a humiliation for anyone you'll get your just deserts back in the championship an awful lot of people have been let down by you and Mr Brown maybe he's related to the PM he's got no idea either

  5. Deliver? Mr Duffen, Phil Brown couldn`t deliver now if he was took by the hand! Don`t you know he`s lost direction! The sad thing is, he doesn`t even know WHEN he lost direction, Stoke game indeed! The clock was alread on five past twelve by then!
