Arsenal forward Robin van Persie has called on the club to keep their top players this summer and avoid a repeat of the major departures of a year ago.
The Gunners lost Mathieu Flamini, Alexander Hleb and Gilberto Silva at the end of last season, and Van Persie has stressed the importance of keeping the current squad together.
"The main thing for me is that we stay together," Van Persie said.
He added: "If we lose three or four every year it is hard to get the spirit in. Hopefully we can stay here and have a real go at it.
"If we can produce games like we did this year there is room for improvement - if you look at our midfield it is between 20 and 22."
Centre-back Kolo Toure has hinted that he is ready to pledge his future to the club and play his part in keeping the squad together.
Toure said: "There is still time on my contract and I hope the club will show that they need me.
"When you love somebody it's important that they love you back. I have loved this club for years and I always give everything for the team.
"I have been here a long time and when I saw some players leaving the club last year that was difficult for me. Then when we didn't start the season well I was scared.
"You start to think that maybe the club don't need you any more. When it's like that and you are 28 you have to think about yourself as well. But I came back, I'm playing at the moment and I hope that will carry on."

I'm giving Wenger one more season, in a year people can mature and grow up, the team will be one year older and wiser then this season. Hopefully injuries will be contained, lets also pray that we get rid of adebayor, Diaby, Bendtner (sorry I have to say it how it is). And lets have faith in the players who have really made an impact on the team do not buy out their contracts.
I don't think wenger is getting senile he's just had to push this new idea that a young team can be winners to the extent where he'd look like a foll if he went back on his words, no one takes a hypoccrite seriously.

Wenger has placed his trust in his younger generation, some of it mis-guided but I'm sure a sizeable proportion will come good at some point in the future. When that day comes what better sense of satisfaction will Arseanal fans have, than seeing a team of young players grow together and become successful. Wenger is a legend. It's sad to se how unthankful some of the gooners are after so much success with this man.

Walcott (Speed is there - just need to have good compatriots to bring out the best in him),
A. Song (good in speed and hardworking),
Rosicky (skilful & hardworking but only if he able to recover fully, otherwise sell him immediately when next transfer window opens,
R.Van Persie (technically good but must work hard to chase for ball),
Eduardo (skilful and creative - but only if he can recover again fully, otherwise sold him when next transfer window open),
Andrei Arshavin (skilful but need more time to gel with team to get most out of him)
Buy D. Agger (experienced and skilful),
Ferreira (good value for money - guess Chelsea do not miss him much),
Deco (creative and can be formidable with Fabregas in midfield if join by good compatriots),
Tevez (hardworking & quick - already hinted interest in joining Arsenal)
Sell William Gallas (attitude & not getting along well in squad),
Kolo Toure (form drop drastically in 2nd part of EPL season),
Denilson (cannot cope with pressure in midfield and weak in challenging for ball),
Emmanuel Adebayor (blowing hot & cold in form - inconsistent & lazy to chase for ball),
Nicklas Bendtner (still quite far from being a good striker, complacent)
Kieran Gibbs (K.I.V. - sell if first 5 matches of start EPL season falters).
With these re-shuffling then this Arsenal team is good for challenging trophies to stop the rot & drought!

I totally agree with Robie's point, we must not forget that patience IS a virtue. The team has potential, all we fans have to do it to have a little faith! After all, the season was not as bad as it seams, we were spoiled and used not to see defeats and now we are being a bit too harsh
Errr.... Sell Toure and bring in some turner and hangeland... SPUD! I agree with Giovinco though I would make him our number one target, a real world class talent! Diego is a waste of money, as for coquelin, wilshere and merida are better and so is frimpong.
