We take a look at the title contenders from all the major European leagues as the season nears a conclusion.
Situation: Barcelona will retain their crown with victory over Real Valladolid at the Nou Camp on Saturday. The reigning champions take a one-point advantage over Real Madrid into the final weekend. Both teams have already qualified for next season's Champions League. Valencia will finish third while Real Mallorca and Sevilla are battling for fourth and final Champions League spot with a point separating the two sides.

Situation: Internazionale lead Roma by two points heading into the final weekend of the season. Victory at Siena will be enough for Jose Mourinho's side to claim the Scudetto. But should they draw or lose, victory at Chievo for Roma, who have a better head-to-head record, will be enough to send the title to the capital. Milan have sealed third place but Sampdoria (64 points) and Palermo (62) are still battling for fourth.

Situation: Bayern Munich won their 22nd title on the final day of the Bundesliga season. The Bavarian club ended the campaign five points ahead of Schalke who also qualified for the Champions League. Werder Bremen finished third which brings a spot in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League.

Situation: Marseille have already been crowned champions but there is all to play for in the battle for the second automatic Champions League spot. Lille lead third-placed Auxerre by two points going into their final games of the season, while fourth-placed Lyon are a further two points behind but with two games to play. Montpellier are level on points with Lyon but the best they can hope for is a Europa League spot.

Ukraine
Situation: Shakhtar Donetsk were crowned champions after beating title rivals Dynamo Kiev in a league decider. The champions enter directly for the Champions League group stage; the runners-up will have to qualify.

Romania
Situation: CFR Cluj are a point clear of Unirea Urziceni with Timosoara in third, a further point behind. Vaslui and Steaua Bucharest are level on points in fourth and fifth respectively. All harbour hopes of claiming a Champions League spot, with the champions entering directly for the Champions League group stage and the runners-up having to qualify.

Situation: Benfica sealed the title on the final day of the Portuguese season. They go straight into the group stage of the Champions League while second-placed Braga will play a qualifier.

Situation: Steve McClaren's Twente were crowned champions after winning at NAC Breda. Ajax finished second, a point behind. The champions enter directly for the Champions League group stage; the runners-up will have to qualify.

Turkey
Situation: Fenerbahce hold a one-point advantage over Bursaspor at the top of the Turkish Super Lig with one game remaining. The champions enter directly for the Champions League group stage; the runners-up will have to qualify.Galatasaray and Besiktas are level on points and will fight for third place.

Situation: Panathinaikos have been crowned Greek champions and will play in next season's Champions League. Olympiacos, PAOK, AEK and Aris are involved in a round-robin play-off mini-tournament to decide who wins a place in the qualifying stages.

Situation: It's a straight fight for the title between Young Boys and Basel, with three points separating the two sides at the top of the table. Basel have a superior goal difference by two. The top two go into the third qualifying round of the Champions League.

Situation: Anderlecht have already won the Belgian title. Genk and Sint-Truiden are involved in a play-off that will decide who joins Anderlecht in the third qualifying round of the Champions League.

Situation: FC Copenhagen have successfully defended their title. Only the Danish champions qualify for the Champions League preliminary rounds.
