Rotherham United face competition from League Two rivals Grimsby Town for the signature of Mansfield Town striker Michael Boulding.The Mariners are the latest club to declare their interest in signing the 32-year-old. The Millers and Lincoln have already gone public with their interest.

Boulding, who scored 22 league goals as the Stags were relegated from League Two last season, has been offered a new contract at Field Mill but wishes to continue playing in the Football League. Bradford and Morecambe are also reported to be interested in the striker.

Mariners boss Alan Buckley told the Grimsby Telegraph: "I have spoken briefly to Michael, but then I went on holiday and I think he is away now.

"We have made our interest known by making contact and we will see what happens. I know a lot of clubs will be keen on Michael's services."

However, Mansfield manager Paul Holland stated on Wednesday that he remains 'very positive' about his chances of keeping hold of Boulding.
