Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling could be in line for a transfer cash boost if former defender Nicky Shorey leaves Reading over the summer.Shorey has been linked with a move back to the Premier League following Reading's relegation and the Os would land a sell-on fee for the full-back they sold to the Royals for an initial £25,000 back in 2001.
Any windfall would go towards Ling's summer transfer budget with a striker top of his priorities.
"It would mean I would be able to look at the next level of strikers, those with proven quality and there are a couple I'm interested in," Ling told the Recorder.
The Os are expected to tie up a loan deal for a Tottenham youngster by the end of the week.
