Queens Park Rangers have made an undisclosed bid to sign Blackpool's Latvia international defender Kaspars Gorkss. The 26-year-old, who has been with the Seasiders since January 2007, is at the top of new Rangers boss Iain Dowie's wish list.
Watford and Preston have also been linked with moves for Gorkss, who impressed while making 40 appearances in the Championship last season as Blackpool steered clear of the relegation battle.
But Rangers, backed with the financial muscle of Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal, will be favourites to capture the £250,000-rated centre-half.
