Huddersfield boss Stan Ternent is convinced striker Danny Cadamarteri can help spearhead the Terriers' promotion push next season. The 28-year-old is halfway through a two-year deal at the Galpharm Stadium, but has so far made little impact due to hamstring trouble followed by a knee injury.
New boss Ternent, who has put Cadamarteri on a solo training schedule, told the Huddersfield Examiner: "Danny is a quality player, no doubt about it, but he has more than his fair share of fitness problems.
"We've had him following a special routine and he's put in some hard work at the training ground since the end of the season.
"The aim is to get him fit and keep him that way and we'll be looking at ways of doing that, because he's no good to us sat in the treatment room.
"It would be good to have him fully fit and competing for a place, because he certainly has the ability to play an important role for us."
