Vick, 28, was released from a Kansas prison on May 20 after serving a 23-month sentence for dogfighting and is on supervised home confinement in Virginia.

"Michael remains suspended by the NFL," Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said in a statement on the Falcons' website.

"However, in the event NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell decides to reinstate Michael, we feel his best opportunity to re-engage his football career would be at another club."

Vick was the top pick in the 2001 NFL draft and a three-times All-Pro quarterback with the Falcons.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles have restructured the final two years of the contract of five-time Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb.

McNabb, 32, was set to earn $9.2 million this season and $10 million next season but the new deal is worth $24.5 million, with another $1 million in incentives, ESPN reported.

The Eagles reached the NFC title game last season but lost to the Arizona Cardinals, 32-25, leaving McNabb still searching for his first Super Bowl victory.

"Last year, we were just that close," McNabb, a 10-year NFL veteran, said. "And I think we can get over that hump. I'm focused on winning the Super Bowl hopefully in these next two years. That's got to be the main focus.

"When you get so close six times, one time to be in the Super Bowl, you feel like it's going to happen. When is it going to happen? Well, hopefully in these next two years."
