Bradford manager Stuart McCall has made his first move in the transfer market this summer by signing defender Simon Ramsden from Rochdale.

The right-back has agreed a one-year deal, with an option for a further season.

Ramsden, who started his career at Sunderland, helped Rochdale to the League Two play-offs last season

The 27-year-old made more than 100 appearances for the Lancashire club, including the 2008 League Two play-off defeat to Stockport.

Meanwhile, defender Matthew Clarke has become the latest Bantams player to commit his future to the club by signing a new one-year contract.
