Businessman plans Magpies bid

Fri 12 Jun, 09:09 AM

A north-east businessman is planning to launch a £150million takeover bid for Newcastle.

Rick Parkinson, who has made much of his cash from the textiles industry, has joined forces with four other entrepreneurs and is preparing to make a formal offer for United.

The Northumberland-based multi-millionaire's consortium is willing to pay £90million to current owner Mike Ashley, plus £30million for transfers and the same amount again for restructuring.

  8. John, i visit the safc pages; i've actually struck up good banter with a handful of them over the last season (they visit these pages too - you know the ones, jack, heslop, patrick) and i would gladly buy them all a drink, even safcalsftm . . . . . at least he admits to being a wind-up merchant!! Obviously, there are some who don't know the difference between banter and bile, and then are others who are even worse than that - they support neither club but just try and stir it up in order to seek attention and recognition (tragic!).

  13. hey up j connolly,apology.
It would seem that i have used the word camping, which has caused connolly much anxiety and has indeed been interpreted as camped out,so to speak.this is an error on my part and retract any statement made to mr connolly suggesting he was camped out on the safc site.please accept my apologies, and look forward to constructive dialogue.

  19. impact, let me put you straight, You made a statement that I camp out on the SAFC site, I asked you to prove it by producing some of the comments you saw. I never denied visiting their site, that's where the news about Bruce was etc, so I read it, why not it's about footie, I said I dont camp out there which is true.
You on the other hand cannot produce the evidence to back up your claim so you are a leetle leetle liar are'nt you.

    From john.connolly01, on Sat 13 Jun 3:53PM
  20. Yes impact, but what about the statement you made, was it a lie, have you seen me camping out on SAFC site as you say you have, or are you just a lying little knobber.
