Deals don't faze Adams

Micky Adams insists he is comfortable with the situation regarding player contracts at Port Vale.

The Valiants board offered deals to several players before Adams' arrival last Friday including Ross Davidson, who has penned a new one-year contract.

However, the new boss claims he was aware of the state of affairs before he took up the reins at Vale Park.

He told BBC Radio Stoke: "It's unusual to come into a club where contracts have been offered. But I was aware of that when I took the job, and they will be accounted for in the budget for next season.

"We're talking about young lads here. They want a rung on the ladder, it's not about the money at this stage of their careers.

"It doesn't make my job any harder. The hard part is when the games start, and I haven't lost a game yet."
