Nani ready to grab his chance

Fri 12 Jun, 11:08 AM

Manchester United winger Nani hopes to play more once Cristiano Ronaldo departs for Real Madrid in an £80million transfer.

Ronaldo's move to the Bernabeu is expected to be confirmed in the next few days.

"Ronaldo was a very important player for us but now my opportunity has come," Nani said to Portuguese sports newspaper OJOGO. "The time has come (for Manchester United) to put their trust in me."

Ronaldo's world-record transfer has taken a lot of people by surprise considering the financial crisis in Spain and around the world.

"It's a fantastic fee," the 22-year-old added.

"It puts a new value on Ronaldo. We are talking about an excellent player, so I think it (the fee) is fair."

Ronaldo is the FIFA World Player of the Year and has won numerous titles with Manchester United.

"He deserves everything that has happened to him considering what he has accomplished in recent years," said Nani, who will remain a team-mate of Ronaldo's in Portugal's national side.

"Real Madrid is a great club and I wish him luck."

  1. zvanizajebani, your idea , in my opinion, isnt very good. think of it, tosic is a 21 yr old from serbia, no exp in the premier league, and is no where near as good as nani.

  2. i want Tosic to take over Ronaldos spot not Nani his no good

  5. you should go to Madrid to I am sure they have an under 10's team that could use your skills you look like Sammy Davis Jnr love child maybe you should quit football and become a Sammy Davis Jnr impersonator instead and I agree with drk_hggns he does think he is Ronaldo mark 2 but with 0.2% of the skill

  6. yes Nani.. I hope you won't betray United.. good luck man.. and if you scored! Don't you ever do that hippie dance again! IT could break your leg if you made a mistake.. comment 2.. you're absolutely right.. Ronaldo maybe a top scoring player, maybe a dangerous player.. but he never tries something that Giggs tries (although it hits the bar) after Solskjaer rebound it to goal! 44 yards a high curling ball and hit the bar.. Ronaldo is a fake!

I'm a Manchester United fan.. but know this, Viva Ronaldo? Viva Ronaldo? Look if you'll viva in Real.. I think you'll ended like Beckham most likely.. or much more worst!

  7. Hurray,if Nani is a regular next season even we (Villa) might have a chance of beating United in the league! Not a huge chance but more likely with him starting!

  8. Nani is or should be out the door. He is not a winger in the class which United demand. His shots are mostly wild, and his passing leaves a lot to be desired. And while you are packing, take "No goals" Anderson with you.

  12. Nani is too light-weight for the EPL and the same goes for Tosic. Man U need some players with physical presence as well as pace.

  14. Not sure if Nani can fill the gap Ronaldo will leave behind, but I do hope united tend to get an experienced flank who can really provide the strikers instead of scoring for himself... But good luck to Nani on his future :)

  15. £17mill for this fella??? And the worst part is he looks at Ronaldo as a role model when he should be looking up to Giggs... Rubbish player, and i'm a united fan

  17. "The time has come (for Manchester United) to put their trust in me." Hahahahaha He's not Ronaldo. Performances on the pitch determine the outcome of the faith and trust put on by the club. Not them the other way around. If you play @#$% football they're not gonna have any faith in you.

United supporter here. It's time for him to step it up. His downfall will be done if he tries to be another Ronaldo.
