Charlton have confirmed a glamour pre-season friendly against Spanish Primera Liga side Athletic Bilbao next month.Alan Pardew's side will host the Spaniards at The Valley on Saturday, August 2 in what will be their final pre-season run-out before the big Championship kick-off against Swansea a week later.

Bilbao have won the Spanish League eight times and alongside Barcelona and Real Madrid are one of the only clubs never to have been relegated from the top flight.

The announcement comes just days before Pardew takes his players to Spain for a summer training camp.
