Walsall's Troy Deeney admits he needs to start finding the net on a regular basis if he is to cement his place in the first team next season. The 20-year-old made 16 starts in League One last term and knows he has to improve on his return of just one goal.
"I started 16 games but only one goal in return is not good enough at whatever level you play at. I know that and everyone close to me knows that," he said.
"All I want is Walsall to do well and while I'm in the team we need to be winning and I need to be scoring goals - that's my target.
"I've got good help back at home. Everyone is pushing me on that little bit further. No-one's jumping on the bandwagon saying 'you've played so many games', they say 'you've played this many games but you've only scored one goal, you've got to push on now this season and get 10 or 15'."
