LONDON (AFP) - World champion at two different weights Joe Calzaghe will face American legend Roy Jones Jr in the Welshman's farewell fight, according to www.boxingtalk.com on Saturday.
The fight will be rubber-stamped within the next two weeks and is to be held in September, Jones told the website.
"Calzaghe and I are going to be fighting this fall," the American said. "They are holding September 20 or November 15 for us, but right now it's looking like September 20."
Calzaghe moved up to light-heavyweight in April, beating Bernard Hopkins to become the world's premier fighter at the weight - in addition to his undisputed super-middleweight WBC, WBA and WBO titles.
He is now unbeaten in 45 professional fights.
The 36-year-old Welshman, who will relinquish his WBC super-middleweight title to fight Jones rather than defend it against Carl Froch, will retire after the lucrative clash with the four-weight world champion.
The likelihood of Calzaghe - last month awarded a CBE - giving up the WBC belt means Froch could fight for the vacant title.
