Wigan manager Steve Bruce admits signing a striker is his priority during the transfer window.
Bruce has been linked with an £11million bid for Everton's Andy Johnson as he looks to boost his team's forward options.
The Latics were the second lowest scorers in the Premier League last season and Bruce is aware he needs to improve his attacking options.
Though he did not comment on any interest in Johnson, he confirmed his intention is to bring in a striker.
"Our top scorer in the Premier League last season had seven goals," said Bruce in the Daily Star. "We have got to address that.
"Any Premier League club worth its weight has four or five strikers.
"I think they are the most important people in any team because they are the ones who can turn a match and win a game for you."
