Olympic silver medallist Philips Idowu and Jessica Ennis both announced their world title intentions with confident victories at the UK Athletics Championships
Heptathlon hopeful Ennis jumped a season's best 1.91 metres to win the women's high jump while Idowu needed just one attempt to win the triple jump with a leap of 17.05m.
"I'm really pleased," said Ennis, who missed last year's Olympics due to an ankle injury.
"I had three good attempts at 1.94m. I'm a bit disappointed not to get it but next time out I think I can have it, hopefully in Berlin.
"Everything is going well at the moment and I'm really enjoying myself."
Meanwhile, Dwain Chambers defended his decision to pull out of the 200m, following his disappointing second place in the 100m on Saturday.
However, he claims he still wants to attempt the sprint double in Berlin - although will now need to get the selectors nod.
"Just because I've had a glitch I am not going to stop," he said.
"I haven't had to fight for anything domestically but now I do.
"I have had to deal with worse. The loss will give me that extra buzz to get back. I've got work to do and I'll bounce back."
Elsewhere, Wales' David Greene won the men's 400m hurdles in 49.08 secs, well inside the qualifying standard for Berlin.
