Premier League - Round-up: Fulham cruise

Goals from Andy and Eddie Johnson and a third from Erik Nevland guided Fulham to a 3-0 victory over Melbourne Victory at the Etihad Stadium.

England striker Andy Johnson put the Cottagers ahead just after the half-hour when he converted a penalty awarded after he was knocked to the floor by Melbourne keeper Mitchell Langerak.

Substitute Eddie Johnson then doubled the lead shortly after the hour when he raced on to an Andranik Teymourian ball and he fired into the back of the net.

Nevland then rounded off a comprehensive victory when Seol Ki-Hyeon flicked the ball into the path of Nevland with the outside of his boot and the Norwegian slotted home.

Bradford claimed an early scalp by beating Premier League newcomers Burnley 2-1 in their opening pre-season friendly.

Veteran full-back Graham Alexander opened the scoring in the 13th minute for Burnley, who handed debuts to Steven Fletcher and Tyrone Mears.

But Bradford hit back through James O'Brien's 24th minute goal before Michael Boulding sealed the win 12 minutes later.

  5. i was at the game and the only reason fulham won was­ because melbourne played terribly and by the way it­ wasn't the keeper that brought johnson down. it was­ the central defender.
