Bruckner overlooks Salzburg's Janko

Karel Bruckner has named his first Austria squad since taking over from Josef Hickersberger - and there is no place for striker Marc Janko.The Euro 2008 co-hosts take on Italy in an international friendly in Nice on August 20.

Former Czech Republic boss Bruckner has left out Salzburg's Marc Janko, the top-scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga so far this season with five goals in seven games.

Janko was also omitted from the Austria squad for the European Championship.

Two more players who missed out on the summer showpiece, Rapid Vienna forward Stefan Maierhofer and Hoffenheim defender Andreas Ibertsberger, have though been included in the 19-man party.

Austria crashed out of Euro 2008 at the group stage after failing to win a match.
