Tottenham have confirmed the signing of veteran goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez from Spanish club Real Zaragoza.
The 36-year-old is expected to be the understudy for Heurelho Gomes, who has been signed from PSV Eindhoven as Paul Robinson's replacement.
Cesar, who earned a Spanish cap earlier in his career, played in the Champions League final for Real Madrid against Bayer Leverkusen in 2002.
He told skysports.com: "I have fulfilled a dream, it will be unique. I have arrived to help Spurs.
"I am also here to fight for my place. It is up to the manager. Gomes is a good 'keeper. I believe that the both of us offer a good level.
"Tottenham want a big season, and I am ready for the challenge. I know the Spurs squad is capable of a great performance in the Premier League. I am prepared for everything."
