Nicolas Lapierre and Olivier Panis will start from pole position for the last round of the Le Mans Series at Silverstone.

The ORECA-Matput duo set the fastest time during qualifying at the Northamptonshire circuit.

Lapierre was almost a second quicker than Stefan Mucke with Darren Turner third fastest in the second AMR Lola-Aston LMP1 coupe, nine tenths slower than team-mate Mucke.

"We've had a big update to the rear aero, which was very last minute," said Lapierre after his second pole in a row.

"We spent free practice balancing the car and it was getting better and better through the sessions."
