The 25-year-old Rujano turned professional in 2003 and was third overall in the 2005 Giro, winning the mountain classification and one stage.

Rujano has struggled since his impressive 2005 Tour of Italy, failing to finish both the Giro and the Tour de France while riding with Quick Step in 2006.

The Venezuelan national champion did not race in any of the grand tours this season and also missed many of the year's major races after Unibet were excluded from a series of ProTour events because of a dispute between the UCI and the organisers of the three grand tours.

Belgian Stijn Vandenbergh, another Unibet refugee, also secured his place with a Pro team next season after reaching a deal with French squad Ag2r Prévoyance.

CSC, meanwhile, have signed 26-year-old Belgian climber Jurgen Van Goolen - second in the mountain classifications at this year's Vuelta - for two years from the soon-to-disband Discovery Channel squad.

36-year-old Italian Davide Rebellin - a two-time Flèche Wallonne winner after his victory this year - has extended his contract with Gerolsteiner through 2008.

Française des Jeux rounded out their 28-man squad for next season with the signing of Belarusian Yauheni Hutarovich - a stage winner at the Tour du Poitou-Charentes in August.

Finally, Saunier Duval have signed a three-year deal with 21-year-old Eros Capecchi, who moves over from ProTour rivals Liquigas.
