Oldham smashed Hereford 4-0 in League One thanks to goals from Lee Hughes, Andy Liddell, Daniel Jones and Danny Whitaker
The win puts the Latics third in League One, one point ahead of fourth-placed Leeds and one behind second-placed Leicester - who have a game in hand - and two off leaders Scunthorpe.
Hughes opened the scoring when he struck from close range after keeper Darren Randolph spilled Jones's long-range shot on four minutes, his sixth league goal of the season.
Liddell doubled their advantage with a penalty on the quarter-hour mark after Hughes was brought down by Bruno N'Gotty, and on-loan Wolves man Jones made it three just before half-time when he raced onto a Chris Taylor pass to finished well.
Stephen O'Leary was sent off for the Bulls after picking up two late yellow cards in quick succession, and Whitaker completed the rout in injury-time with a shot that went in off the post.
Hereford stay bottom after the defeat.
