Jason Koumas may miss Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifier with Ireland at the Millennium Stadium through illness.
The former Tranmere, Cardiff and West Brom midfielder pulled out of the weekend defeat to Spurs and could miss the dead rubber against the Irish in Cardiff.
Star men Craig Bellamy and Gareth Bale are already out, with Fulham winger Simon Davies expected to fill in for Bellamy as captain.
Nottingham Forest's Arron Davies, Luton's David Edwards and Swansea midfielder Owain Tudur-Jones are all youngsters who have been called into the squad.
Meanwhile, West Ham reserve captain Jack Collison and Bristol City youngster Christian Ribeiro - who is also eligible for England and Portugal - have also been called up for the Under-21s to ensure their futures are committed to Wales.
