Ferrari test car called F2008K

Wed 12 Nov, 08:37 AM

Ferrari's winter test car, based on the 2008 car, will be designated 'F2008K'.

It is believed the 'K' is a reference to the incoming KERS for 2009.

According to sources, the F2008K will be able to run in several key specifications; ranging from using ballast to simulate the weight of the energy-recovery technology, to eventually a fully operational KERS.

The car is set to make its imminent debut at Ferrari's own local test circuit Fiorano, and also in Luca Badoer's hands in Barcelona next week.

  1. Rav A, I'm quickly becoming a fan of yours hehehe, you're too funny. Need a laugh in the morning. ever thought of getting into writing a sitcom?.. maybe about f1 and all the "smart" people around it.

  2. Is the rumour true that Ferrari may pullout of f1 due to the credit crunch as they may go bust?

  3. The way things are developing in F1, it looks like Ferrari will dominate outrageously the competition next year with this new 2008K monster. By the time it reaches the 9th race, Massa would be far gone ahead and Kimi behind. So, my dear unfortunate UK friends, convey my regrets to Hamilton and consorts, # 1 and # 2 spots are already reserved for the top 2 drivers. Let LH, FA, and RK fight for # 3 spot.

  4. RAV A, it had an illegal floor pan.
Just has I thought very selective in your very little knowledge of F1.

  5. Mr. Paul T - "..Ferrari for useing an illegal car at the Australian Grand Prix, fact prat..."
What was wrong with the car? Didn't have a license plate?

  7. Vijay calls Ron Dee.
    - Vijay: Ron, I need an engine foe next year
    - RonDee: You already got a Ferrari engine
    - Vijay: No, we split with Ferrari
    - RonDee: Good news! Let's talk
    - V: I said I need a Mercedes engine
    - R: OK, no prob, but I need something from you.
    - V: No prob, anything you ask.
    - R: I need the Ferrari engine you've been using
    - V: No prob, it's yours bur what for?
    - R: I need to surprise LH on hix next birthday. I want to give him a new improved
    McLaren-Mercedes car as a gift
    - V: what about me, would I get the same improved engine?
    - No, it's safer for your drivers to have Heike's. It's slower, you wouldn't worry about accidents

  8. Hey Paul t, you must have missed the call when god was handing out brains to everyone: actually Mc-Lamen discussed and used the tech specs obtained by the british ferrari traitor in favor of british cowardly team. There are emails and phone calls and text messages between alonso, and the Mc-lamen test driver, and they were discussing different strategies on how to use the illegally info. THAT's a FACT !! Now let's not talk about the fact that Mc-Lamen's RD cried out in front of the entire world, and then stopped when INCREDIBLY the FIA only took away the constructors points. He must have tought "oh goody, we can still try to win the driver's championship" Who is the FIA supposed to be the protector of? you tell me you Mc-Lamen fan. You and Mc-Lamen, with your revisionism, deserve each other.

  10. When is Ferrari going to let the news leak out that they are getting rid of Kimi?

From Yankee Racing, on Thu 13 Nov 2:21AM
  11. Rav A, you are really of simple mind, and so gullible, no technical specifications or data was found at McLaren or on the car, that's fact, you ignorant prat, it was only Mike Coughlin and Alonso that used this so called data, Alonso tried to blackmail Ron Dennis, to stop Lewis Hamilton, and that backfired big time, but your guardian Max Mosley, in full acknowledgement,of Alonso's black mailing attempts, offered Alonso immunity, if he sent him, HIS e-mails, and from where I'm sitting, that makes Mosley just a bigger prat as you clearly are, if you are going to make statements then get your facts right, McLaren was set up by Mosley and Ferrari because McLaren reported
Ferrari for useing an illegal car at the Australian Grand Prix, fact prat.

  14. Rav A, you bring up a good point. Now that Force India switched to McLaren-Mercedes, I wonder if they turned over any of the Ferrari data that they had been using this year.

From Forza Ferrari, on Wed 12 Nov 4:24PM
  15. Ferrari did well of getting rid of Force India. The Scudera cannot afford another tech specs leak in favor of McLaren-Mercedes. I bet, RD is trying desperately to get his hands on the New Ferrari technical details. Anybody who does that to Ferrari again must be shot.
