United States forward Landon Donovan is to train with Bayern Munich for the next 10 days.

The Los Angeles Galaxy striker, top scorer in the MLS regular season with 20 goals in 25 matches, will return to Caifornia later in November.

The 26-year-old's move follows an agreement for team-mate David Beckham to join Milan on loan from January during the LS off-season.

Bayern coach Juergen Klinsmann once worked as an adviser to the Galaxy and also lived in California.

Donovan had an ill-fated spell at Bayer Leverkusen as a youngster.
