Goals from Glenn Whelan and Danny Pugh gave Premier League Stoke City a 2-0 home win over League Two Rotherham in the Carling Cup fourth round.
Whelan scored a 21st-minute free kick to put the hosts ahead.
Pugh doubled the lead on the hour mark after racing through on goal.
Stoke made nine changes from the side that drew 0-0 with Wigan at the weekend but still dominated the match and should have scored more goals.
Vincent Pericard was particularly profligate in front of goals, while Dave Kitson had a goal disallowed and Whelan hit the woodwork.
Rotherham - who lie 21st in League Two - put in a decent performance and went close themselves through the impressive Ruben Reid.
Swansea 0-1 Watford
A first-half strike by Lee Williamson gave struggling Watford a 1-0 win at Swansea.
Williamson - who scored for Watford in the 3-1 league defeat to Swansea at the weekend - netted on 22 minutes after good play by Tommy Smith.
On-loan Espanyol midfielder Jordi Gomez almost scored a dramatic late equaliser, but his free kick came off the inside of the post.
Derby 2-1 Leeds
Championship side Derby County scraped to a 2-1 home win over League One Leeds United.
Emanuel Villa and Nathan Ellington put the hosts 2-0 up after 17 minutes.
Villa turned and finished with aplomb on the edge of the box for his fifth goal in five games.
Ellington finished from close range after Kris Collins cleverly chipped the ball over Casper Ankergren following a one-two with Paul Green.
Luciano Becchio pulled one back five minutes before the break with a towering header but, despite incessant pressure from the Whites, Derby held on.

i think ul find Jiate that theyr not on about arsenal beating ipswich but wigan beating ipswich
Jiate - read the article again! It doesn't say arsenal beat Ipswich, it says Wigan did!
There is an error - Arsenal beat Sheff Utd in the third round, not Ipswich
I don't think Rafael can be described as a "fringe" player anymore. Good to see Possebon back, he's going to be a big player for Utd in a few years.
If you want to watch any of these games type live footy and doctor into a search engine and the website with them in it shows them live and for free its safe too
Rafael has impressed me a hell of a lot with his attacking desire and commitment to the ball. I assume every young lad would (should) play the same. Like a bull at a gate. I do feel, and see he has a lot of maturing to do and at the moment he would never be selected in a defencive minded game ie Chelskov or Barca. He will have to learn accountability! Looking like a very bright future. Keep it up boy.
