Luton manager Kevin Blackwell was relieved to secure an FA Cup clash with Liverpool after a deserved 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest. The cash-strapped Hatters have been unable to pay their players since being placed into administration earlier in the month. But they secured a January pay-day against the Merseysiders after Calvin Andrew nodded home Matthew Spring's cross in the 54th minute to record a league and cup double over Colin Calderwood's men.
Blackwell said: "I think that's the first chink of light and good news we've had at the club for a long time.
"It's been all doom and gloom and FA enquiries, losing players and losing wages. But now we've put a big feast on the table in terms of Liverpool and hopefully people will be fed at the football club.
"It's difficult when you've brought players to the club who have brought their families with them and then this happens.
"Hopefully they will get something on Thursday - the first time in seven weeks. I think they've shown that they deserve to be paid with that performance."
