Robins boss waits on skipper

Fri 12 Dec, 01:45 PM

Cheltenham Town manager Martin Allen is sweating on the fitness of captain John Finnigan ahead of the Robins' trip to Leyton Orient. The 32-year-old midfielder was taken off during the second half of Saturday's 1-0 win over Crewe after twisting an ankle and is rated as doubtful for the clash.

Cheltenham are also waiting on the availability of striker Ashley Vincent, who also turned his ankle against the Railwaymen but should be fit.

Defender David Bird is unlikely to make the squad as he is struggling with a groin injury, although striker Elvis Hammond is in line to start after making the bench last time out on his way back from a groin problem.

Drissa Diallo, who netted the winner against the Alex, is set to skipper the Robins if Finnigan misses out as they look to register back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
