Vale boss faces selection dilemma

Fri 12 Dec, 11:00 AM

Port Vale manager Dean Glover faces several selection posers as he prepares for the trip to Bury in a League Two clash on Saturday afternoon.Right-back Anthony Griffith returned from an operation to remove his wisdom teeth to play in Wednesday's reserve-team victory over Mansfield, meaning he will now rival Sam Stockley for a starting berth.

Midfielder Dave Howland also featured against the Stags having been sidelined with flu, while strikers Steven Thompson (hamstring) and Kyle Perry (knee) are also pushing for minutes on the pitch after grabbing the goals in the 2-1 win.

Paul Edwards has a small chance of making the clash after having an injection in his ankle while fellow midfielder Simon Richman is also hoping to feature having grabbed the winner in last weekend's dramatic 2-1 win over Grimsby.

However, midfielders Dave Brammer and Shane Tudor remain sidelined with their respective knee injuries.
