Top-scorer Chris Iwelumo is battling to fit for Wolves' clash against Barnsley having missed the midweek win over Derby with an ankle injury.The Scotland striker was forced out of the 3-0 victory at Molineux and is in a race against time to face the Tykes, although Andy Keogh partnered Sylvan Ebanks-Blake against the Rams and impressed.
Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme finally looks to have overcome a hip problem to force his way into contention, although he is unlikely to dislodge current number one Wayne Hennessey and will have to settle for a place on the bench, meaning Shane Higgs should drop out of the matchday squad.
Manager Mick McCarthy will have to decide whether to keep faith with Matt Hill in defence after his long-awaited debut against Derby or whether to bring back Stephen Ward. Matt Jarvis will also be hoping for more game-time following his hamstring problem.
Veteran centre-back Jody Craddock (broken toe) came through another 90 minutes in a midweek training match and is increasing his fitness ahead of a possible return over the Christmas period.
Goalkeeper Matt Murray and defender George Elokobi (both knee) remain sidelined for the long-term.
