Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido is adamant reported Manchester City target Luis Fabiano will not leave the club in January.
Fabiano's agent, Jose Fuentes, claimed last month that City are among a host of clubs interested in the Brazilian.
But Del Nido has no plans to sell the 28-year-old attacker, despite rumours of a potential £25 million bid from City.
He said in the Daily Star: "We have already discarded this opportunity because we feel that it will damage the team.
"We are involved in a lot of competitions and at the moment we do not want to lose such an important player.
"We are not interested in the money. I will not change my mind.
"Sevilla are not a selling club and the idea of winning matches is more important to us than money.
"The player and the agent have been told his. But the situation could be completely different in the summer."

Of course not, That's usual. Manchester City is near to the regulation zone. I don't think any will join Manchester City on Janauary. I don't even not understand why Robinho joined Manchester City on Sept. Robinho you should leave your club and join some other good clubs such as chelsea..... You're not deserve to stay in this team.
HUGHES OUT HUGHES OUT HUGHES OUT HUGHES OUT HUGHES OUT HUGHES OUT THE FOREIGHN GROUP DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT A BRAINLESS OAF HUGHES IS HE AINT PREMIERSHP STATUS POSS WELSHPOOL FC CALIBRE WOULD SUIT TAFFY HE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO GET THE PLAYERS MOTIVATED ENOUGH HE DEFINATLEY AINT A PREM MANNAGER PLEASE SEND HIM TO BLACKBURN ROVERS N SAVE OUR CITY
Another city defeat!!!.... HUGHES OUT BEFORE WE GET RELEGATED!
Manchester are`nt the top of league "YET".
City are buying loads of good players but i think they will lose them fast. Robinho might stay for a few seasons , If Kaka is in there he will be in for a few seasons ,Fabiano may stay for longer if he decides to go to the city club. Hope city won`t get : Fabregas , Raul , lqampard , Terry , Fernando Torres , Ronaldinho , Gerrard , Ryan Babel , Adebayor , Deco if they do buy these players they will be like thd wonder team!.
To be fair, it did take Chelsea a couple of years to sign really big players. However the point most Man City seem to be missing is the fact that Man City have no real history or prestige. they haven't won anything for 30 years now (or around that). They are not a big name and despite their money they will struggle to attract the big players. Before Chelsea had their billions they were still winning trophies and competing in finals. They could still attract big names such as Gullit, Vialli and Di-Matteo. ( I know they were at the end of their careers, but at that time most of the big foreign names in the Premiership were).
The point made about hit and miss players is irrelevant. Any player that is bought for eithers millions or pennies can be a hit or miss.
I do think City can do well, but having money is not the be all and end all.
I really dont care if City do or don't manage to capture a "world-class" player in January. Just knowing that there is no player out there we couldn't bid for is a real nice feeling most fans would love to have. They might not be flooding in next month, but they will.
What targets do your team have?
lol fahmi, you are an idiot...
Fahmi Y
Why dont you go on ebay and put in a bid for a brain? @#$%
No-one wants to join City? well Robinho did.......Look at Chelsea when the first got the money......How long till they actually signed some Major world class talents?.......A few years......And then the "world class" players have been hit and miss Shev, Ballack, Deco......First Season they signed Duff, Geremi, Robben....All unproven or not world class...Give it a couple of years and City will be signing plenty.
